Natural Wines of Georgia
A carefully curated selection
of Georgian natural wines
In business since 6000 BC.
Georgia has arguably the oldest wine making tradition in the world. Grapevine cultivation and ancient wine making on the slopes of Transcaucasia took place for the last 8000 years at least.
The Qvevri is an amphora-like earthenware vessel used for making and ageing traditional wines throughout Georgia. Knowledge and experience of Qvevri manufacture and wine-making are passed down by families, neighbours, friends and relatives, all of whom join in communal harvesting and wine-making activities. Children learn how to tend the vines, press grapes, ferment wine, collect clay and make and fire Qvevris through observing their elders.
Georgia is home to more than 400 unique, indigenous (autochthonous) varieties. The better known of them are the white and rich Rkatsiteli and the majestic red Saperavi. But have you ever tried the juicy Ojaleshi or the superbly mineralic Chinuri?

All wines you’ll discover at ZOLIKO are natural wines. Our producers apply organic and biodynamic wine growing techniques, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pestizides.
